Writing a newsletter takes some time, so here's one prepared earlier!

You can include parents in celebrating your school's Science Year activities by sending out a newsletter. This template is presented as a Word file which can be amended to help you do just that. Included in the newsletter are sections to link your work to Science Year. It provides suggestions on how pupils' work can be displayed, a range of layouts you can play about with and copy for other resources.

  • Science Year logo
  • General information about Science Year
  • Explanation of the 'Who am I ? ' theme
  • Description of Top Science and a cartoon illustration
  • Description of Flesheaters and an illustration
  • Space for pupils comments on their Flesheaters work
  • Description of Inside Body
  • Description of Perfumes
  • Top Science crossword
  • Publicity for science drama presentations in your school
  • Publicity for a science fair in your school
  • Website addresses for parents and pupils to look at
  • Local science centre event details
  • School contact details for Science

There is a lot crammed into these four pages to give you plenty of different ideas.

Print out the four pages in black and white for photocopying onto an A3 newsletter.

A blank front page is also provided if you wish to create your own design. This gives you the flexibility to use pupil work as the inside pages.
